Disney Wish Review

Sunday, June 25, 2023

Since it’s officially 6 months ‘til Christmas! I'm so excited to share our experience aboard Disney's Wish! We did a 4 night Very Merrytime Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral, FL this past Christmas.

The Disney Wish is one of Disney's newest ships. It's Disney's fifth ship and it began sailing in July 2022. A Disney Cruise is an amazing vacation to be able to rest and have an adventure all in one. It's a great way to spend family time and get some adult only time in too!

Day 1/Night 1:

Embarkation:
Since the pandemic, Disney Cruise Embarkation was a little different than our other trips. We got in the day before and spent the night in Port Canaveral (You can see the ships from our hotel), so Embarkation Day went really smooth for us. We slept in and had our free breakfast at our hotel. Jumped on the hotel shuttle and we were off to the port to arrive at our Port Arrival Time. Since we took the shuttle, our driver handled our luggage. We just made sure all 4 were given to the bag handlers once we got off the shuttle. After all luggage was accounted for, we headed to board the ship! Once we made it through check in and security, we were able to take some photos while we waited for our boarding group to be called.

Once on board, (A Disney castmember announces your family as you step on board the ship!) we immediately got our picture taken with Captain Mickey! Grabbed some snacks/lunch, toured the ship, took some photos, and had some deck 11 ice cream (OF COURSE!)

We ventured to our room around 2:30pm. Our key to the world cards were waiting on us at the door.

Once we toured our room and sat our things down, we headed to the open house for all the kid clubs. Disney Cruise Line youth clubs are divided into age categories as follows - Oceaneer club & Oceaneer Lab are for ages 3-12 years old, Edge is for ages 11-14 years old, and Vibe is for ages 14-17 years old.  There is even a nursery onboard called It’s a Small world for ages 6 months to 3 years old.

We explored the ship a little more since we had some time before we had to be at the Mandatory Assembly Drill.

Sailing Away Party:
After the mandatory assembly drill, we headed to the pool deck for the sailing away party. It's one of our favorites! Since haven't set sail since the pandemic...we may or may not have cried a little when Disney blew their horn! We were "home"!

Worlds of Marvel
After the party, we had a little more time to explore the ship and freshen up before our dining started! On our first dining rotation we had Worlds of Marvel. We are Marvel fans so this was amazing!
We were able to see Ant Man & Wasp as they walked around the restaurant. The Quantum core on our table was really neat.

Evening Entertainment:
After dining, the kids wanted to go their clubs. My husband and I watched the Seas the Adventure show. However, I was having really bad motion sickness on our first night that I didn't even make it through the show. I ended up having to take more medicine and going to sleep earlier than expected to get some relief. This was the worse I've ever been on a cruise and we have cruised during a hurricane once!

Day 2/Night 2

Today we docked at Nassau, Bahamas. Instead of getting off the ship, we chose to stay on the ship. First thing this morning, we did our Royal Gathering that we had booked prior to sailing. We were able to see Moana, Tiana, Belle, Rapunzel, and Cinderella. We were excited for Moana since this was our first meet & greet with her.

We ate breakfast together as a family and then checked out the obstacle course (Hero Zone)! Afterwards, our kids decided to go on to their clubs. My husband and I roamed the ship some more and ended up at story time with Mrs. Claus which was followed by a character dance party! We were able to meet and greet with many characters!

Then it was time to collect the kiddos and freshen up for our dinner. Our rotation dinner for the night is at Arendelle! (A Frozen Dining Adventure) The dinner is to celebrate the royal engagement of Queen Anna & Kristoff. Oaken was our favorite. He did amazing!

Tonight, the whole family watched got to see The Little Mermaid! Disney's live show are ah-mazing! After the show the kiddos went off and we grabbed some deck 11 ice cream before calling it a night!

Day 3/Night 3

Castaway Cay Day! This is one my favorite days! We grabbed breakfast with a Castaway Cay view. Once we got off, we went straight to the beach for a little bit until our kids decide that the water was a little chilly and wanted to go to their clubs. Since we were left as "Adults only" we went straight to the adult only side! It was a day of laying out and play before deciding to go back a little early to grab some food and ride AquaMouse. (We skipped lunch on the island) Once on board we grab some tacos and the tested out the AquaMouse!

Since it was Pirate Night we had dinner in Arendelle but this time with a Pirate themed menu! (For Pirate Night you repeat a restaurant)

Then it was time for "Pirates in the Caribbean" show and deck party! Then we grabbed a seat higher up for the Pirate's Rockin' Parlay Party and fireworks! Great way to end the night.

Day 4/Night 4

Day at Sea! Today was our spa appointment and it was amazing! We roamed the ship, saw some characters, played some trivia before heading to our appointment.

For tonight's dinner rotation, we were at 1923. It was beautiful. It's named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded. The peppercorn steak was amazing!

We ended our last night on the Wish watching Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular and of course with Deck 11 ice cream.

Day 5 - Disembarkation

Sadly, our experience on the Disney Wish came to and end. Before we left we grabbed one last breakfast.
